I want to start off by saying that I was really surprised that our first wide release review was filled with so much indecision. I must admit that I went into this project with a slight bias, as it was my hope to find a company that I could wipe the floor with, exposing as much as we could. We really thought that after digging deep and joining the Mona-vie MLM program, and that after working their system for a few months, we would find the hidden facts exposing shady practices. Any exposure of those things would have enabled us to tell you, with no uncertain terms, not to try this company out. This, however, was not the case. We promised to bring you the most honest, up-to-date reviews, as it happened to us. And we promised to do it without all the marketing spin. So here it is plain and simple. The Mona-vie MLM model, while not the best one out there, does offer a few redeeming qualities. And as such, we have to categorize it as a “Company of possible interest.” The product line that Mona-vie offers also placed very high in our opinions, much higher then the MLM program that is used to sells it.
As mentioned above, our Mona-vie review results came in with mixed results, with two of us hating the MLM model and two of us actually doing ok with it. In fact, the two reviewers who liked the model actually made a bit of money with it. The compensation plan is simple for the most part, but if you decide to look into it with the need to understand it, it soon becomes confusing and a bit weird. Their plan is divided into two legs. One leg is provided to you by your Mona-vie sponsor and the other leg has to be built by you. It is our belief that Mona-vie uses their sponsor-generated down-line leg to instill a sense of motivation. Their down line consists of a bunch of people and your goal becomes to match or beat those numbers. However, if you do not grow your down line, you do not get commissions. Commissions are only paid out through the down line you grow. Another nice little thing that we found out about the company is that the commissions that are paid out are rather high, so if you can manage to get a few people under you to sell a bit, you can at least make enough to pay for your own product consumption. This leads me to my second point of disappointment with this company. The product cost is way too high. I’m not sure whether they are selling at a high price point to be able to pay out better commissions, or whether they have legitimate production expenses. To the best of our knowledge, the company imports its Acai berries from Brazil to different distribution and processing centers throughout North America. It is our estimate, after speaking to Mona-vie's high end distributors that the expense due to importing and then exporting this product may be a legitimate cost concern. Mona-vie however is not the only one, the major commonality that I found with this company aswell as others, was the cost. And with the acai berry health revolution in full swing, all of these companies stand to make a lot of money. A standard bottle of the Mona-vie juice will cost you anywhere from $39.00 for the original blend, to $45.00 for their active blends which has esterified fatty acids and glucosamine for added joint and bone protection. If you take the juice the way it’s supposed to be taken, you are looking at a bottle lasting you for about a week. So, for a month’s supply of Mona-vie you can expect to spend at the most about $180.00, depending on the shipping and handling. I don’t know about you, but for me that’s a bit steep. At that price, I want a guarantee that the product is going to make me healthy, regardless of my lifestyle. Obviously the Mona-vie company can not do that, so where does that leave us?
Well it leaves us with three options. Option one is to sell your butt off and make enough money through your down line to be able to afford the product, or at least get the product for free through your commission reimbursements. The second option, which is the option we are doing, is to sign up as a distributor and get the juice at almost half off. If you can swing enough money to buy a few cases, you can get the juice for as low $22.00 a bottle. This is a lot easier for most of us to handle. Once again, if you decide to go this route you are more then free to use our direct account, where you will never get contacted or pushed into buying anything. It is the account that we set-up to strictly test and review the product.
(Look in our “MLM Surprise” page, Link provided below, to find out more about our Active Account).
Whether you go through our direct "Active" account (which is for everyone to use and is just used to purchase the juice product. You will never be contacted by any one of our MHA Staff.) or through another distributor of your choosing, becoming a member is the cheapest way to get the product. The only problem with becoming a distributor through another distributor, is that you will have to sit through the sales pitch. The third option is just to buy it direct from a Mona-vie distributor, without actually becoming a member. Thats not a problem either, they will do that too, however you will be paying full market value for the juice.
Other facts that we found out about Mona-vie through different forums and eZine subscriptions, is that the business model that is used by Mona-vie allows their distributors at higher levels to abuse the system by continually recruiting representatives. There seems to be no cap on recruitment, and the more experienced seller, higher up on the chain, can find ways to circumvent their down line sales. We were not able to experience this however, we are told that with this current business model, down lines have been, in fact, manipulated for high profit gains. Any extra information we find on this problem will be posted in later product review updates.
Just because we dont agree with all of their business practices doesn't mean they don't have a good product or their company a good story. So because we are trying to be fair, we are posting their company ads with our review.
